Only an american would write sempai. There isn't an "m" syllable to begin with in Japanese, so it bugs the hell out of me when people write it that way. Senpei? That's just shameful.
Some romanization systems DO use m, though. Mostly older ones, I guess. But it sounds very similar to "mp" when you say it out loud, so that's why in English we have words like "kempo" and "tempura" when they're technically N's in Japanese.

Anyway...there's no "m" syllable in Japanese, but there's no "n" syllable either, just "ん" Wink

You know it's true, Sarah.

That's one of the things that _really_ bugs me about the American anime culture.

There is a difference between "In Japan, they do X. I know this from reading translator's notes and stuffs." and "In Japan, they do X. A lot of Americans get that wrong. It bugs me. -_-"

I mean, srsly. I bet you don't know Dutch culture, ele.

Checkmate. You win, AB.N.

The only winning move is not to play.

You've weeded out the wicked.

Guten nacht. Mee is dead.

Yeah, but, there is the m sound in ま、み、む、め、も。just not singular, right? the "N" syllable IS ん、though, that's how it's pronounced, right? Only more nasally. ^_^ Kinda like french, if you think about it. Smiley

Eh don't really have any crushes anymore, but if I had to say... I like David Archuleta.

The voice is part of the appeal. He also seems so pure and genuine.

Summer of 2012 for an Ab.net meeting. How does that sound? See my thread, let me know. We'll be planning this for a couple of years, so give it some thought. Talk to your parents or whomever you live with.

In comedy related happenings...

Y'all contribute to global warming when you fart...mine however cures the atmosphere and gives a minty fresh scent.
