TZN: Will you be working on the new Avatar: The Last Airbender series?

ANDREA ROMANO: I already am. I’ve recorded three episodes. It's seventy five years in the future.

TZN: Will Aang in any way be in the series?

ANDREA ROMANO: I don’t know how much of the series I’m allowed to tell you, but that whole generation has died. It’s the next generation. So it’s really cool. It’s the same producers. It’s the same brilliant attention to detail and I’m very excited. Right now we are just making twelve of them and we’ll see what happens.

12 episodes?

Bull talk.

Sad

I know mini series are short, but c'mon... 12?! Really?! We can't have like, 20?

I don't mean to sound greedy, but... well, actually, yes, yes I do mean to sound greedy.

12 episodes will go by, at most, in about 12 weeks. That's if I remember the old schedule, and also assuming we don't have any hiatuses. We'll have a couple of months to enjoy it, but then it's over. Back to AWS.

Summer of 2012 for an Ab.net meeting. How does that sound? See my thread, let me know. We'll be planning this for a couple of years, so give it some thought. Talk to your parents or whomever you live with.

I really don't see the need to keep within the same land if nothing from the original series is even going to find it's way into the show.

Didn't the creators say the opposite in another interview? Aang's going to be in it, if in spirit form.

Right.

But Aang comes back in "a" way.

You lie, Andrea.

They should at least keep a few characters from the show alive, heck most of them were still in their teens. What does Pakku and others get special treatment?

I wouldn't mind seeing someone, even if it's just Teo or something like that.

Yeah, I agree with you there. 70-75 years later and Aang and Toph would be in their 80s, I think they could live that long. I'm pretty sure people calculated Kyoshi's age to be beyond 100 years, maybe much longer than real people, so theoretically anyone in the Avatar universe should live to an average age of about 100, give or take.

I'm inclined to think something and/or someone from the old show will appear, aside from Aang. There has to be some semblance or some linkage.

Well, Kyoshi was unusual. I don't think most people lived to 100. There weren't a ton of really old people walking around.
